This was a complete new build consisting of a Carpenter Oak and Woodland frame building that we were required to complete. Brick and flint work, cladding, foundations and ground floor external walls were only part of the builds requirements. A timber framed first floor with external larch boarding was complimented by laid clay roof tiles for an authentic finish to a grand property. The location of the building being on the Ridgeway on an exposed location meant it was totally open to the elements. Taking this into account, we had underfloor heating to compliment a well insulated building to keep the property warm at minimal cost to the environment and the pocket. It was situated a mile and a half up a field and track so the remoteness was an issue that needed to be overcome with making minimal impact on the landscape.
